Eight years ago, my family moved from LA to Calabasas, and the reason for that was the excellent LVUSD schools. Education transforms lives. I came to America from South Africa as a Fulbright scholar to USC School of Cinema-Television. My husband was the first child in his family to go to college, UCLA, and become an MD. We wanted to give the very best education to our daughters, who are the great joy of our lives. They are now in 3rd and 7th grade in LVUSD schools, and we will be part of this district for years to come. I have much experience in running a business, in community organizations and as an award-winning composer. I am a member of the Measure S Oversight Committee and I have served as chair of our local elementary School Site Council for six years and know the strengths and challenges at our schools today. I already sit on a number of industry boards, and as an elected Board member, I will be a pragmatic and hardworking problem-solver, focusing on Educational Excellence (particularly in Math where our scores are dipping), Safety, Fiscal Responsibility and support for STEM, Music and Art education. I humbly ask you for your vote!
